🔁 Before (Client’s Rough Demo)
✅ After (Final Mix/Master)
Barrett reached out to me with just a voice note, him singing and playing the ukulele. That raw version of Lahaina Town already carried so much heart, and he shared that the song was deeply personal. It was written in response to the Lahaina fires, and it was meant to reflect not just the loss, but the hope of rebuilding.
He referenced I’m Yours by Jason Mraz as the key inspiration, simple, honest, and warm. My goal was to honor that message while bringing the track to life with an organic, emotional, and uplifting feel. I leaned into live acoustic elements to create a hopeful and inviting sonic space, staying true to the spirit of the original reference.
I produced, arranged, and mixed the full version using live instrumentation, organic textures, and soft rhythmic elements that support the ukulele and vocal performance without overpowering it. Every sound was chosen to feel natural and comforting, keeping the focus on Barrett’s heartfelt delivery.
Final Note
Working on Lahaina Town reminded me how powerful simplicity can be. From a voice note to a fully produced track, the intention stayed the same: a heartfelt message of healing and hope, wrapped in gentle, uplifting production.
